Brant Lake Beach
Open July through Labor Day Weekend, Brant Lake Public Beach offers a sandy shoreline and designated swimming area with lifeguards. The beach is located at the smaller end of the lake, known as Mill Pond, across from the Horicon Fire Department. While parking isn’t permitted along the beach, there are spots available behind the nearby Horicon Community Center.
Brant Lake Boating & Paddling
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation maintains a free public boat launch on Brant Lake, located at NY-8 and County Road 26. The launch is open spring through fall and includes a hard surface ramp and parking for a dozen vehicles and trailers. Bring your own boat, canoe, kayak or paddleboard, or inquire about pontoon and fishing boat rentals at Brant Lake Marina.

Brant Lake offers several scenic Adirondack hiking trails, anchored by the Brant Lake Challenge. These four distinct trails – Bartonville Mountain (easy, 1.5 miles), Fox Hill (easy, 1.6 miles), Swede Mountain (easy/moderate, 1.8 miles), and Pharaoh Mountain (difficult, 12.5 miles) – range from short, family-friendly hikes that can be completed in an hour or two to longer, day long expeditions.

Bike the 15-mile, intermediate loop around Brant Lake via Route 8 and Palisades Road for scenic water views, or visit the 200+ acre Brant Lake Bike Park for over five miles of singletrack, including the scenic “Stairway to Heaven” trail. Other road options include a 25-mile loop connecting to Schroon Lake, and a 50-mile Schroon-Brant Lake Loop with 1,968 feet of climbing.
